THE ROOTS OF EHVAM

Soon after she started teaching in Israel, Lama Dvora established the School of Heart-Dharma

(www.heart-dharma.org.il). Over the years, hundreds of students came to study with her, and
currently, over a hundred teachers trained by her teach groups all over the country.
This momentum led to the establishment of the Arava Spiritual Center (www.moar.org.il), a precursor

of Ehvam, located approximately two miles from the proposed permanent site of Ehvam. The facility,
including desert lodgings, a monastery and a nunnery, a study hall and teacher's residence, has been
constructed ecologically, fully funded internally by the community members. Currently, there are over
130 students in the advanced Buddhist studies program at the center. Hundreds more are enrolled in
basic Buddhist studies and meditation courses throughout Israel and Europe.
